Sydney 2.0 Hostel Review Part 1

 BRADOS BACKPACKERS

Facilities

Not only is the wifi is free but you can use it on several devices...result! Finally back to decent wifi...it's been a while!

According to Hostelworld, they lock the front door of the hostel at night..this isn't the case so make sure your dorm room is locked and your valuables are away. We never had any issues but it's better to be safe rather then sorry.

The kitchen is quite good here and the cookers are alright. There is a reasonable amout of fridge space. It is just annoying that the sink and kitchen are slightly seperated. Also, don't count on there ever being enough cutlery here...it is actually like gold dust!

There is a lounge where there is always a film or tv series being watched although a couple of the nights we were here this was cordoned off for staff only which I just thought was ridiculous if I am honest.

Showers and Toilets

All the rooms that we stayed in were ensuite and they were not the best but not the worst facilities we have ever used. However, both lack proper ventilation. There are extra showers and toilets outside the dorm room aswell.

Staff

The staff here are hit and miss. Some can be quite helpful whereas others are unhelpful and rude. However, this is not surprising in hostels in the same way that you would get this in most restaurants etc.

Breakfast

Breakfast is free! This includes cereal, toast and an array of spreads. Nothing special but good enough to start the day.

Value for Money

This is probably one of the best value for money hostels that we have had in Australia. Coming out at $22 per night for a 20 bed ensuite with free breakfast and wifi. It's almost feels like you are stealing from them!

Dorms

Dorms could be more spacious but they do have lockers and they are quite comfortable. It's just grim because short stayers are always on the top floor and there is no lift. However, it's a treat work out!

Location

This hostel is in Kings Cross and although I have heard dodgy things about the place we never had any issues. It's slightly further out for tourist attractions but at the end of the day it's not a long walk and there are great public transport links.

OVERALL, this is a really good hostel especially if you are planning to stay in Sydney for a prolonged period.

Love Imogen xoxo
