The Journey
So we booked a sleeper train from Singapore to Malaysia. If you have read my previous blog posts, you will know I am familiar with over night transport. In my opinion, if there is a chance to do it then it saves you money and normally there are no issues.
Word of warning, prices for trains are considerably cheaper to buy in Malaysia. Many people state that it's better to book from JB Sentral to KL and then get a train to JB Sentral separately. We were advised to get to get the CW2 bus because it would take us straight to JB Sentral and would cost us the same price to get to JB then it would to get to the previous station and take the train. The bus cost us $3.30 and you catch it from the bus station on Queens Street. Here buses are public so you will need to take your luggage on with you. The journey to the first stop takes about an hour. It stops at the bottom of get hill, do not get off here wait until the top. We were lucky enough to bump in to a lady who does this trip daily who spoke English and helped us a lot with which queues to get in etc.
From Woodlands station you go through immigration to leave Singapore then get back on the bus to go through immigration to get through to Malaysia. From there you have to walk through the station and you are at KL Sentral. If we had not have had help, this journey would have been a nightmare!
So as soon as we got in to KL, we hit the ground running and we were off to our first sight!
I had read on a travel blog when researching Kuala Lumpur that there was a temple where you could get your fortune told for RM1...that's the equivalent of 20p. I thought, for 20p it would be rude not to. When we got there, there was a bit of a language barrier but we finally sorted it. The actual reading was not what I expected because I thought it would be more palm reading but instead we were throwing sticks and rocks up in to the air....however I can't complain because mine said that all my friends and family will have peace and serenity!
Central Market and Kasturi Walk
I had heard good things about the markets here so we thought we would check it out. Although some stalls were selling interesting items shall we say there were some really nice bits and lives. Some of the clothes were really nice but I won't lie I am hanging on for later in the trip because you can get them tailor made! However, we did manage to get some nice bracelets and fans after some haggling.
Sky Bar
This bar is known for its amazing views across the city and swimming pool..yes that's right a swimming pool. It's on the 33rd floor of the Traders Hotel. Although, there is not a dress code as such I would recommend dressing nicely for this place because it's a nice establishment! I won't lie, drinks are quite expensive but at the end of the day you are paying for the view. We had a lovely cocktail called the Hemingway Daiquiri, which was strong but fresh. Girls it's ladies night on a Wednesday so it's 241!

Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park
Throughout the day, fountain light shows are held but at night paired with music they are even more spectacular! I would really recommend coming here on your trip because when it gets going it looks amazing and it's so close to the towers you could do them both in an evening.

Jalan Alor
This street market comes highly recommended in several travel blog sites. If I have to be honest, I was disappointed. I don't know if it was because I was expecting it to be amazing or if it was just disappointing. Don't get me wrong the food was not horrible...it just was just not as tantalising as depicted. Check it out for yourself!
Bar/Pub Street
This is the main bar street. There are deals everywhere and very creepy promoters trying to get you inside. Every night appears to be ladies night, which does mean free drinks BUT it also means that 90% of the people in there are men, creepy men at that. Which is good when your in a big group however if not, it's not that fun.
Thai Street Restaurant
So we stumbled across this place whilst hungry and decided to give it a go. We ordered pad Thai, sweet and sour chicken and spring rolls. We also ordered Ice Tea which came with actual peach in it! The food itself was alright, I have had better takeaways at home though. The service was rocky; our order was written down incorrectly, our drinks took ages to come, they tried to clear our table when we hadn't finished and then when were they took ages. Additionally, they put a service charge of $18- this us customary here these days. This is very annoying, especially when service is not great.
Petronas Twin Towers
So after seeing them in the skyline we thought it best we take a visit to the infamous towers. We were told they looked their best at night so we walked on over. You can get a free bus but to be honest the walk was not far from our hostel so we didn't see the point. When we arrived, the heavens had opened and although not a thunder storm we thought it would ruin our pictures. However, our umberellas came in handy with blocking the light out to get some nice pictures of us and the towers!
Lot 10
The food court here has been referred to as a hidden gem and I would have to say I would agree. You would not think at a food court in a shopping centre would house such beautiful food however it does. We went to one of the little stalls and again got a seafood noodle dish and I can say it was one of the best street food meals we have had so far. There are so many stalls you could come back as many times as you pleased.
